FORMER Colchester United favourite John-Joe O'Toole has been released by Mansfield Town.
The ex-U's midfielder, who played 76 times for Colchester during a four-year spell at the JobServe Community Stadium between 2009 and 2013, is leaving the One Call Stadium.
He had been at Mansfield since October, 2021 when he joined them from Burton Albion.

O'Toole, along with Anthony Hartigan, Callum Johnson and Louie Turner, will be leaving after the Stags announced their retained list following the conclusion of the 2023-24 season.
O'Toole has made more than 400 career league appearances for the likes of Watford, Sheffield United, Bristol Rovers and Burton Albion, during the course of his career.
The 35-year-old won promotion to League One with Northampton Town in 2016, where he was named in the PFA Team of the Year for a second season.
O'Toole played three times for Mansfield in their promotion-winning season from League Two and spent the final three months of the season on loan at Johnnie Jackson's AFC Wimbledon.
O'Toole made 14 appearances for the Dons.
